Journal Paper Publication Consultation
We prepare your manuscript to the exact requirements of the journal you are targeting — IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, Scopus-indexed and Web of Science titles — then guide you through review, revision and submission. You keep authorship. You keep control of your account. We handle the formatting, compliance checks and paperwork that slow most submissions down.
What journal paper publication consultation actually covers
Most manuscripts are not rejected because the research is weak. They are rejected because the paper does not look, read or behave like the papers that journal publishes. Section headings sit in the wrong order. The abstract runs 60 words over the limit. Figures are supplied at 150 dpi when the publisher asks for 300. References follow the wrong style. The cover letter says nothing the editor needs to hear. Each of those is a desk-rejection risk, and each of them is fixable before you ever press submit.
That is the work we do. You send us your draft manuscript and, if you have them, your reference list and any supporting documents. We read the paper against the author guidelines of the journal you are aiming at, tell you honestly whether it is ready, and set out in writing exactly what needs to change. If it is not ready, you get our expert committee’s comments so you can strengthen it yourself. If it is ready, we build the submission package and walk you through lodging it.
We are a consultancy, not a publisher and not an agent for any journal. Editorial decisions belong to the journal’s editor and its peer reviewers. What we influence is the quality and completeness of what lands on their desk.
An honest word on guarantees. No consultancy anywhere can promise you acceptance in a specific journal, and you should be wary of any that does. The University Grants Commission states plainly on the UGC-CARE portal that it has authorised no company or person to help authors publish in UGC-CARE listed journals, and that paying an agency for assured publication is unethical academic practice. We agree. What we sell is preparation, review and administrative support — never a promised outcome.

Before you commit to a target. Indexing status changes. A journal that was Scopus-indexed last year may have been discontinued this year, and a quartile ranking shifts annually and differs between subject categories. We check the current status of your target title at the start of the engagement and tell you if it has been delisted or if it shows predatory warning signs — even when that means telling you to abandon a journal you had already set your heart on.
How the consultation works — seven steps
Steps 3, 4 and 5 are optional. Many authors stop after step 2, take our written comments away, and revise the paper entirely on their own. That is a perfectly good outcome and it costs you less.
-
Evaluation of your paper and your target journal Free
You send the manuscript and name the journal you want. We read the paper against that journal’s aims and scope, its author instructions and its recent published articles. We check the title’s current indexing status. If your paper is a poor fit for that journal, we say so at this stage and suggest better-matched alternatives.
-
Detailed scope of work and fixed quote
You receive a written scope: what we found, what needs doing, who will do it, how long it takes and what it costs. Nothing is open-ended and nothing is billed by the hour. If you are happy with the scope, we proceed. If not, the engagement ends there and you owe nothing.
-
Manuscript preparation to journal standard Optional
Structure and section ordering, abstract and keyword compliance, reference style conversion, figure and table formatting to the publisher’s resolution and file-type specification, template application, word and page limits, declarations and statements the journal requires.
-
Expert committee comments if the paper is not yet ready Optional
If our reviewers judge the manuscript below the standard the journal expects, you get their consolidated written comments — the same kind of feedback a peer reviewer would give, delivered before an editor sees it. You revise the paper and send it back. This is where the optional add-on scope below usually comes in.
-
Submission package assembly Optional
Once the manuscript meets the standard, we build everything that travels alongside it: cover letter to the editor, highlights, graphical abstract, author contribution statement, conflict of interest and funding declarations, suggested reviewers, ethics and data availability statements, and the copyright or licence forms that publisher uses.
-
You create your own account in the journal’s submission system
You register directly with the journal — ScholarOne, Editorial Manager, the IEEE Publishing Portal or whichever platform applies — and you remain the corresponding author on the record. This matters: publishers require the submitting author to be a genuine author of the work, and the account must be yours.
-
Guided submission
We walk you through the submission screen by screen — over a call, a screen share, or a written step-by-step, whichever you prefer — so every field, file and declaration goes in correctly the first time. Where you authorise us to assist directly with the upload, we do so under your supervision and with you as the named corresponding author throughout. After submission we help you interpret editor and reviewer correspondence and draft your point-by-point responses.
When the manuscript needs more than formatting
Quoted separately, so you only pay for what you actually need.
Statistical and data analysis
Re-running or strengthening the analysis, choosing appropriate tests, checking assumptions, reporting effect sizes and confidence intervals rather than bare p-values, and producing publication-quality tables and figures. Handled by our statisticians, who hold postgraduate qualifications in quantitative and qualitative methods.
Language editing
Grammar, syntax, tense consistency, academic register and readability, edited by someone who knows the conventions of your discipline. This is line editing of your argument, not rewriting your findings.
Similarity review and rewriting
We run a similarity check, show you the report, and identify where text overlaps existing sources. Where the overlap is genuine paraphrasing failure, we help you rewrite the passage properly and cite the source. Where it is a quotation or standard method text, we help you attribute it correctly. We do not use text-spinning tools and we do not disguise plagiarism — we help you remove it.
Response to reviewers
After the first decision, we help you draft a point-by-point response: what changed, where it changed, and a reasoned rebuttal where you disagree with a reviewer. A well-argued response letter turns a large number of major-revision decisions into acceptances.
What actually happens, week by week
Rather than publish client success stories you cannot verify, here is an honest walkthrough of how a standard engagement runs. Timelines are indicative and depend on the journal, the state of your draft and how quickly you turn revisions around.
-
Day 0
You send the paper
You email or upload the manuscript and name your target journal. You tell us your constraint, whichever it is: a submission deadline set by your university, a viva date, a funding milestone, or simply that two previous submissions were desk-rejected and you do not know why.
-
Days 1–3
Evaluation
A subject specialist reads the paper. In parallel we pull the journal’s current author instructions and check its indexing status. The output is a short assessment: fit with the journal’s scope, structural gaps, methodological concerns, formatting distance from the template, and a realistic view of whether this journal is the right target at all. You get this before you have paid anything.
-
Days 3–5
Scope and decision
We send the written scope of work and the fixed quote. You decide. Roughly speaking, papers arrive in three states: ready but poorly formatted, sound but under-argued, or not yet a paper. The scope tells you which one you have, in plain language, even when that is not what you were hoping to read.
-
Weeks 1–3
Preparation or revision
If the paper is sound, we format it to the journal’s template and build the submission package. If it is not, you receive the expert committee’s comments and revise. Authors commonly go through one or two rounds with us at this stage. Any add-on scope — analysis, language editing, similarity work — happens here.
-
Weeks 3–4
Submission
You create your account on the journal’s platform. We walk you through submission and confirm every file, field and declaration is correct before you press the final button.
-
Month 2 onwards
Peer review
Now it is out of everybody’s hands but the editor’s. Peer review at a Scopus-indexed or Web of Science journal commonly takes anywhere from six weeks to eight months. Most decisions are major or minor revision rather than outright acceptance, and that is normal. When the decision arrives, we help you read it properly and respond.
Why there are no client case studies on this page. Published case studies in this industry are frequently unverifiable, and naming a scholar alongside a paid writing service can expose that scholar to an academic integrity investigation. If you want to speak to a past client before engaging us, ask during your consultation — we will approach clients who have consented to act as references rather than publishing their details here.

How quartile is decided. Quartile comes from the journal’s ranking in its subject category under SJR or JCR, and it is reassessed every year. A journal can move between quartiles, and a single journal can sit in different quartiles across different categories. We confirm the current quartile of your specific target title in the free evaluation, and the quoted fee follows from that.
What we will not do
Being clear about the boundary protects you more than it protects us. An integrity finding can end a research career; a rejected manuscript cannot.
Guarantee publication
Acceptance is decided by editors and peer reviewers. Any service promising assured publication in a named journal is either misleading you or working with a journal whose peer review is not real.
Fabricate data or results
We will analyse the data you collected. We will not generate participants, invent measurements, or adjust findings to make a result significant.
Invent citations
Every reference in a manuscript we touch must correspond to a real, verifiable source that says what the manuscript claims it says.
Sell you authorship
We do not broker author slots on other people’s papers, and we do not add names to manuscripts. Authorship follows contribution, as set out in the ICMJE Recommendations.
Disguise plagiarism
We reduce similarity by rewriting and citing properly, not by spinning text to defeat a detection tool. If a passage is copied, it gets attributed or replaced.
Push you to predatory journals
We take no commission or referral fee from any journal or publisher. If your target title shows predatory warning signs, we tell you and explain why.
Check your own institution’s rules. Universities differ on what third-party support is permitted and what must be disclosed. Before engaging any consultancy, including ours, confirm your institution’s policy on editorial assistance and on acknowledging that assistance in your manuscript. We will supply a written statement of the services provided if your university, supervisor or target journal asks for one.
Who works on your manuscript
Thesis Writing Cafe has operated in academic research support since 2013, from Kumaraswamy Layout in Bengaluru. Publication support sits at Life Stage 8 of our PhD services framework — the stage most scholars reach after the thesis is written and the viva is behind them.
Manuscripts are assigned by subject domain, not by whoever is free. Our reviewers are discipline specialists, most of whom hold doctorates and have published in indexed journals themselves, which means they have sat on both sides of the peer review process. Statistical work goes to statisticians with postgraduate qualifications in quantitative and qualitative methods, not to generalist writers.
We work with candidates across engineering and computing, health and life sciences, nursing, business and management, education, social sciences, law and the humanities, and with scholars based in India, the UAE, the UK and Australia.
Confidentiality and data handling
Every engagement runs under a non-disclosure agreement. Once you submit a document it is stored in our own database, accessible only to the consultants assigned to your file.
Your identity, your institution, your supervisor, your data and your manuscript are never disclosed to any third party. We do not resell, republish or reuse your work, and we do not quote your paper as an example to other clients.
If you want your files deleted at the end of the engagement, ask and we will confirm deletion in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Can you guarantee my paper will be published?
No, and neither can anyone else. Acceptance rests with the journal’s editor and its peer reviewers. What we can do is remove the avoidable reasons for rejection — poor fit with the journal’s scope, formatting failures, missing declarations, weak framing and unclear writing — so the decision turns on your research rather than on your paperwork.
How long does the whole process take?
Our part typically runs three to four weeks from receipt of the manuscript to submission, assuming the paper needs preparation rather than substantial rewriting. Peer review after submission is controlled entirely by the journal and commonly takes six weeks to eight months depending on the title. We give you a specific timeline in the written scope of work.
What does it cost?
Fees follow the quartile of your target journal: ₹20,000 for Q1, ₹15,000 for Q2, ₹10,000 for Q3, and ₹7,500 for Q4 and other journals, plus applicable GST. Article Processing Charges levied by the publisher are separate and are paid by you directly to them. Add-on services such as statistical analysis or language editing are quoted separately.
Do you submit the paper on my behalf?
You create the account in the journal’s submission system and you remain the corresponding author on the record — publishers require the submitting author to be a genuine author of the work. We guide you through the submission screen by screen, and where you authorise it we assist directly with the upload under your supervision. Either way, the account and the authorship are yours.
What if my paper is not good enough yet?
We tell you at the evaluation stage, before you pay. You then receive our expert committee’s written comments setting out what needs to change. You can revise the paper yourself and send it back, or engage us for the specific add-on work it needs. Many authors take the comments and do the revision independently, which is a legitimate and cheaper route.
Which journals do you work with?
IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, Inderscience, SCI and SCIE titles, Web of Science and Clarivate indexed journals, Scopus-indexed journals, UGC-CARE listed journals, the Anna University approved list including Annexure I and II, and other international journals. We work from whichever title you name and check its current indexing status before you commit.
Is my manuscript kept confidential?
Yes. Every engagement is covered by a non-disclosure agreement. Files are stored in our own database and accessible only to the consultants assigned to your work. Nothing is shared with any third party, and we will confirm deletion of your files in writing on request.
Do I need to disclose that I used your service?
That depends on your institution and your target journal, and you should check both. Many journals require acknowledgement of professional editorial or statistical assistance, and many universities have policies on third-party support. We will provide a written statement of exactly what we did so you can disclose it accurately.
